My aim today was to try and capture movement, with a carefully posed static object. I was going for some kind of “I’ve caught him mid-stride” thing. Did I get anywhere close?

Tuesday of dummy week and we’ve made it out of the house.

I think I’m going to spend all week shooting this chap, so apologies if you get a bit bored of him. I do promise that I’ll take him outside at some point!

I spent far too long setting this up tonight, and I’m still not happy with the lighting or the background but it’s as close as I’m going to get today. I’m down to one flash trigger at the moment so I’m a bit limited on options.

I made a thing
Inspired by this puzzle I’ve made a thing! I doubt it’s exactly the same as the puzzle for sale on that page, but it was a nice exercise to take the idea and see if I could reverse engineer a way to make it work.
The above is three whole cards with slits cut in them so that they slot together to form the object pictured. See if you can make one!
Self Portrait
I took a similar photo to this one earlier in the year, but I didn’t use it as a “photo of the day”. I have sharper images from this set, but liked the slightly milky look the eyeball has in this shot.
Pining for the fjords
Or something like that. Ere, has anyone noticed that I’m running out of steam this last week or so? I think I’ve hit the toughest week of the year, with about 50 days to go.
I did try to take something more appropriate for the 90th anniversary of the end of WW1 - but it seems there are no publicly accessible war memorials withing walking distance of my office. The nearest one appears to be inside a church, which was closed.
