A photo a day is too hard when you’re shooting film, but I’m digital now. Rah!
I’ve been winding down the amount of film I shoot this week as I’m off on holiday soon and don’t want to travel with a film in the camera if I can avoid it. So instead I’ve been mucking about with a slightly better constructed TTV enclosure. I’m toying with the idea of taking it on holiday with me, to use with Jay’s Pentax K100D - if he’ll let me.
The above photo is a picture of what I made last nights dinner out of. Everything in the video came from my garden and tasted all the better for it!
It’s really sunny today and I’ve got stacks of raspberries just waiting to be picked - so I picked some! I like smoothies… (Click photo for ingredients list)
It’s been a slow week this week, hence the lack of enthusiasm for photography. It’s been made even slower by almost every train I wanted to catch all week running late.
This morning, they canceled the train and I had to wait for the bus. Which also failed to turn up. If only the UK would take a look at how some of its nearest neighbours run their public transport…
It’s not my camera, it’s one we bought for use in the office (taking photos of whiteboard sessions etc). It’s a Fuji FinePix S6500fd and I quite like it. It’s somewhere between a digital compact and a low end DSLR. It will do everything from full manual (including focusing, shutter speed, aperture) to full auto. The physical interface to all the controls feels natural, and the focusing ring on the lens is a nice touch.
It’s got a few features missing which I think would probably stop me buying one for myself (Lack of cable release, hotshoe and a few other things) so I don’t think it’s going to put me off my goal of “buy a Nikon D80 after Christmas”
Its not too bad at macro stuff, and this is the chalkboard todo list in my kitchen. I need more clocks, everyone should have more clocks.
I haven’t put up a holga shot for a while…
I’m slightly bending the “Don’t do it if I couldn’t do it in the darkroom” rule here, although I could easily replicate the composition when mounting the photos. Indeed, I’m tempted to do so!
Two photos for you today, as I got a few corkers out of the holga last night and I’m itching to get the last of the Crawley 35mm shots out of the way so I can put them up!
They’re both weather related. Well. I suppose they’re actually both rain related.
I wandered lonely as a diabolo
that rolled behind a tent
He threw me, dropped me, turned around
and wondered where I went.
Another one from the Crawley carpark convention today.
I like the way this chaps dreadlocks are flapping about as he lands…
This week, I’m going to try hanging on to my film scans, and uploading them one at a time. Hopefully then, I’ll be able to get into the habit of dribbling out one photo a day for the blog, which will be good practice for when I eventually start shooting digital.
It was the Crawley juggling convention this weekend, and as Jay lives near Crawley we went. Despite Jays house being 10 miles away, we still camped in the carpark and ate junk food all weekend.
This is Jay, eating some chips. I’m not eating chips, because he smothered them in tomato ketchup…
