I’ve got a new camera!
Yay for new toys! I’ve finally given in and bought a digital SLR. Mainly because I got fed up with scanning 35mm film. Medium format I can cope with, 35mm is too fiddly and I just haven’t got the knack for laying it flat.
So, I’ve got a Nikon D80…

Off camera flash, ghetto studio setup can be seen in the setup shot…

(Almost) The whole family…
It was my Mums birthday today, and pretty much the whole family assembled at M&D’s house, the only one missing was Jay and he’s got a pretty good excuse (living 130 miles away!)

My photos of the cake were a little rushed, but I took a few more photos of Holly.

Pumpkin Party…
My family seems to have developed a bit of a tradition. We all spend the summer growing a pumpkin, then get together on Halloween for a weigh in, to see who grew the biggest one. After the weigh in, it’s carving time, so here’s mine.

I grew the heaviest, my mum grew the most perfectly formed one, my older sister and niece (Ruth and Hayley) didn’t pick theirs as it’s not ripe yet and still stands a chance of growing, my younger sister (Mary) didn’t have a garden until recently, and my Brother (Steve) says his pumpkin was about 1/2″ long and not worth bothering with.
I have a plan for next year though…
