Running Man

Not a terrifically inspired photograph today, it’s a statue outside the sports centre near where I work.
It does however mark an important milestone, I’ve made it to the end of January without missing a day! I’ve taken and published one photo every day for 1/12th of 2008.
I’m off up to Scotland for the weekend as from tomorrow, so there may be a lack of updates until Monday – but I’ll still be shooting!

Just Hanging Around

For years I wanted to be a rope access worker. Fixing lighting conductors to the side of large buildings being one of the less interesting jobs that they do.
Bonus points to any Bristol people who can tell me which building this is, the only clue I’m going to give you is:
“I took this within the first 10 minutes of my lunch break”

Moneypot

I’ve been playing with my as-cheap-as-possible audio flash trigger again. I really should write up how to build it at some point.

Easily Amused

It was my birthday today, I had a couple of special photos planned to mark the event involving a muffin (which I forgot to buy) and some candles (which I can’t find). I bought some special background paper to shoot against, and then left it in a bookshop 130 miles away from where I am now.
Oh well. Perhaps I’ll take that shot later in the week.
I was given a rather nice London A-Z for my birthday. The first thing I do with any map is to look for amusing placenames. London has so many to chose from, so that’s what I did.

Horsham Sunset

I was out taking Emily (my partners mental cocker spaniel) for a walk this evening, and this is pretty much what the sunset looked like. I haven’t seen a sunset this vivid for ages.

Dice Balancing

Dave Goreman Balances Rocks – I don’t have any rocks, so I’m using dice.

All washed up

I like washing machines in launderettes – they feel like portals to a world populated by spare socks. Sort of like Narnia, but with less lions, witches and wardrobes.
So not really much like Narnia at all then really.

A Nice glass of diced milk

No, I’m not entirely sure where I was going with this either.

Station Crenellation

I’m not sure if these are actually called crenellations or not. I know that there is a name for them, although “crenellation” is almost certainly not it as they aren’t square and aren’t on a castle.
Feel free to correct me in the comments!
Other photos today include Core! Birds!
