Macro Matches

I didn’t get around to having a real lunch break today so no lunchtime photowalking for me.
I decided to go to my local juggling club so I could take some juggling related photos, got half way up the road and remembered that it’s not on tonight because the hall is in use by someone else.
I got home and set up a still life only to find that the batteries in my radio flash triggers have died. I tried using lightbulbs but that wasn’t really working for me either.
So, for the second day in a row, I bring you a macro shot. I’m not 100% happy with it, but I’ve run out of steam today.
Tomorrow is a new day though, and it’s got “must try harder” written on it.

Sticky Feet

I bought a lens reversing ring off ebay last week. It’s used to mount one of my old 50mm Pentax lenses backwards on my camera to turn it into a macro lens for next to nothing.
This setup is going to take a bit of getting used to, as the focusing ring is next to useless, so you focus by moving the camera and/or subject. Fiddly!
I dug out my old camera and took a setup shot for this, just to show you all how ghetto my studio is.

Another Washing Machine

J and I popped into the Launderette today. I’m fascinated by launderettes. I’ve taken photos of them before, and I suspect I’ll take photos of them again. With washing machines with names like Loadstar – who wouldn’t?

White Lines

This was possibly the most interesting photo I could find in Horsham Park.
It’s a little more interesting than the obvious tree shot I took at Hesworth Common later in the day and my Rock Balance photo wasn’t as visually interesting as I’d hoped (although it does show about as much of J as I’m allowed to get away with on here)

Worthing Rocks!

I took a day trip to Worthing today, to occupy myself while J was at work. Worthing was in the news last month because a ship full of wood washed up on the beach in a storm. It’s taking them ages to clear up.
Still, it makes for nice wallpaper, in 2048×768 and 2560×1024 versions for dual head monitors.

Lifesaver!

Because the reeds need saving too!

Lost, Lonely and Lying in Liquid

Lost, Lonely and Lying in Liquid.
Shame about the lens flare though. Still, It offered more alliteration than the Picture of a Pier from the same day – and it’s more interesting than the picture I took for Plumsie.

Pool

I dropped in to the new University staff club at lunch time, I really like the colour of their new pool table, and I like the composition of this shot.
This is pretty much how the shot came off the camera as well, I’ve tweaked the contrast slightly but done nothing apart from that.

Uplight

Not a terrifically inspiring shot today. But then I did wake up at 3am and fail to get back to sleep – so I’ve been running on empty all day.
Still. At least it’s not another “small object on a black background” shot. Three in a row is quite enough!

“Does exactly what it says on the skin”

Just an excuse for the title really.
