Photos of Phones and Phonographs (occasionally)
This sculpture caused a bit of a stir when it was installed. You see, it’s not just a piece of public art, it’s a phone mast – and it’s pretty much next door to a hands on science centre popular with kids. Apparently, that’s bad or something.
It seems to be a week for re-visiting old subjects. I’ve shot Spencer before, but I wanted to try out a high key shot and didn’t have a more suitable subject.
In other news – today is the 150th anniversary of the invention of the eraser tipped pencil.
I’ve become really rather interested in pipes recently. Not for smoking (filthy, smelly, expensive habit) but for chewing on and pointing with.
It’s terribly civilised darlink!
I like this time of year, I can’t help but get excited when the first batch of seeds that I’ve planted start to grow!
This little fella is a chilli, and it going to grow up big and strong and give me lots of nice tasty Scotch Bonnets … scorchio!
This isn’t my best work. The colours are boring, the feet are lost in shadow, the face is washed out, the composition isn’t even all that great.
However I’ve spent the last hour and a half trying to shoot other things and am just not getting anywhere – so I’m calling it a night.
Tomorrow is, as they say, another day.
My original plan was to have the hole smoking like a gun shot, but I couldn’t get the smoke to go where I wanted it to. In the process, I got the matches a bit too close to the card and it all went a bit bonanza.
Still, the end result is pleasing enough.
This is Emily. She’s mental, even by spaniel standards.
Oh, and she keeps tripping over her ears. I think she needs a haircut.
The muffin is less than 5% fat, which makes up for the hot chocolate with extra cream…
