Origami Boulder

Origami Boulder - 2008-04-30

Inspired by (ok, ripped off from) www.origamiboulder.com – but it’s 11pm and I’m stuck.  Doh!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, brings me to the end of my 4th month of photo a day! 121 days of photos in a row, with no gaps.

By my calculations, I’m a third of the way through.  So all I’ve got to do now is what I’ve done already – twice.

50 Screws

More Screws - 2008-04-29

These screws used to attach the legs to the desks in my home office, that’s how I know there are 50 of them.

I’ve got real desks now, desks which:

  • aren’t made out of fire doors, plywood, bits of scrap wood and cheap legs from ikea
  • don’t wobble when you look at them
  • don’t sag in the middle because my pair of honking great CRT monitors was a bit too much for them
  • are sodding heavy and equally tricky to reassemble single handed
  • were free!

Barbed Wire

Barbed Wire - 2008-04-28

After work I decided not to get off the train at the right stop, instead I went to the end of the line – Severn Beach for a bit of a photowalk.

I took almost 80 photos, but was only really happy with three of them.  One is the barbed wire above, there’s yet another rock balance (which could almost be titled “don’t jump!”) and some dried mud.

I think the rock balance is one of the better balances so far, but I’ve posted more than enough rock balances for the moment – the last one was only 12 days ago – I might try to limit myself to one a month!

I went for another walk around Blaise Castle today, found this chap guarding the cafe.

Repaid in full!

Paid In Full - 2008-04-25

I’ve waited 9 years for this letter.

9 whole years!

Yay! No more student loan! *dances happy dance*

I might treat myself to some free pizza!

Explore, @Bristol, Planetarium?

explore_medium

I can never remember which bit of @Bristol this is. Other than “that great big mirrorball” – I’m not sure it matters. I picked this shot mainly because I haven’t done a square one in aaaages.

Honourable mention today goes to this shot – which is about as close as I’m going to get to Celia’s request for an “interesting photo of the Wills Tower”

Words

Words - 2008-04-23

I went to Bath this afternoon for a meeting. Rather than just come straight home afterwards, I went for a wander with my camera. I couldn’t find any interesting new angles on the touristy bits (Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths etc) but I did find this engraved stone. Lovely texture!

Chroma Keys

I’m beginning to get back into the swing of things, I’m a lot happier with todays photo.

I found this piano on my way to the train station after work – it’s seems playable (although needs tuning) – It looked like it was being thrown out.

If only I had space for it!

Honorable second place mention for today goes to some tree blossom.

Tonight is one of those evenings where the images in my head just won’t display in my viewfinder.

I think I need to be a bit more pro-active about taking photos again. Some of the better photos from this year have come from lunchtime photowalks around Bristol – so I’m going to get back on that horse tomorrow and shoot something outdoors.
