Bar Billiards
This is a bar billiards table – I’ve never understood the game, but I liked the way the light was hitting it on the way out of the pub at lunchtime.
Hot Solder
Makes the world go around apparently. It does at least make the electrons go round in the right directions.
Today, I bought a 50mm f1.8 prime lens for my camera. My intention is to shoot with it as much as possible over the next few weeks, using my legs to zoom as needed. It’s almost certainly going to set me back a bit in terms of quality for a few days while I work out what I’m doing.
I had to work a little harder than usual to set up the above still life (No “compressing the background by zooming in” for example) but I think I’m going to enjoy seeing where limiting myself to a single focal length takes me.

I was at work for 11 hours today.
Sunset Balloon
I don’t like this one, the colours look dirty, it’s hazy because it’s shooting almost into the sun (and my lens hates that) and the quality’s just not good enough.
But I’m exhausted after a days manic concentrating, so it’s all you’re getting.

Sunset in Almondsbury
I dropped in to the Bristol Juggling Convention today, just to visit.
It wasn’t until after I’d taken this photo that I realised that it was (Crystal|One) Ball Paul – and the last time I saw him was 2001, when I spent a night on his floor in Amsterdam.
I’ll be popping backwards and forwards to the convention during the week, and I’ll be adding those photos to the Bristol 2008 album
