Finding his photographic feet, one photo at a time
When Projects Collide

I’m collecting jugglers signed promo material, and when I got back to Bristol I found an envelope waiting for me, from yo-yo pro and recent Circus Space graduate – Arron Sparks. Thanks Arron!
Tomorrow is the first day of the last month of this photo a day project. It feels odd to be winding down. I think I’ll try and squeeze in a theme week some time in the remaining 31 photos. Any sugestions for themes? Hit the comments!

Stars

We attended the cats funeral in the morning, and spent the afternoon/evening sorting through 2 years worth of accumulated junk. I’m alergic to dust, and horses, and there was plenty of dusty horse stuff amongst the junk. I was on my third “one a day” antihistamine of the day when I took this photo of J’s lampshade.

Peekaboo!

I was mucking about with the window blinds in the morning, with the intention of shooting something better later on. It’s a good job it came out OK.
I ran over J’s neighbors cat after lunch, on my way to buy a new toilet seat. She was 19.5 years old, deaf as a post, and sleeping under my car. She didn’t move when the car did. Come to think of it, she didn’t move a lot after I stopped the car either.
I’m very much a cat person, and I like Maurine (the cats owner) so I was a really quite upset about this and didn’t really feel like going photohunting.

Crawley Club

I went juggling tonight for the first time in a very long time. I like the Crawley juggling club I walked through the door, was issued with a kitkat and a cup of tea, and pointed at the comfy seats. I even did some juggling!
I had my first proper attempt at flashing 8 balls, and pretty soon managed to launch all 8 (although my best so far is 3 catches) – Given that I can’t hold 4 balls in each hand in a diamon grip, I think the balls I’m using may be a smidge on the large side for my hands which is probably not helping matters.

The Engine

I spent most of the day swearing at this engine, changing vacuum hoses, plugs, and fuel injectors. End result? It now runs for about 15 minutes before spluttering to a stop. Which is actually an improvement.
Given that it doesn’t run properly again until it’s cooled down, and that there are signs of the fuel/air mixture getting too rich when it fails – the blame is currently being pinned on a seal somewhere which is failing when it heats up – possibly on the inlet manifold. Stripping that down is a bit beyond me though. A job for the garage I think.

Emily

This is Emily. I’m pretty sure I took a very similar photo earlier in the year, but she’s lovely (if a bit mental)

Stormy Weather

I tramped through brambles and halfway across a field to separate those trees. I wish I’d gone further and isolated the one on the left.

wantwantwantwantwant

I went round to see my parents today. They’ve got a coal fire. I want one.
Updates may be a little patchy for the next week, and I’m sure there will be at least one photo of the K-Jetronic Fuel Injection system I’m going to be trying to coax into life – or the VW Corrado it belongs to. I can tell you’re excited by the prospect.

Back-in-the-box

I’ve shot with these dummys for 7 days now, time to put them away for a bit. They might pop up again later in the year, but only for one shot at a time!
