Nothing On
I was in two minds about posting this picture. On the one hand it’s better than anything else I shot today, on the other hand I can pick loads of holes in it and come up with plenty of reasons why I think it doesn’t quite work.
Rather than go into what I think is wrong with the shot (and what I think is right with it!) – I’d really like to hear what some of you lot think. If you like it, don’t like it, or think it’s almost there but could be improved, use the comments page to let me know what you think!
I’m not fishing for praise, I’m genuinely interested to see if other people pick up on the same things that I have, or if I’m being over critical.

The tv is “looking” slightly to our left but the body is leaning to the right, scattering my attention. The telly is also not central on the dummy’s neck. The snow isn’t very satisfying. I like teh punnage and the conception though. I can’t comment on the technicality of capturing that image – all I know is I couldn’t do it!
I’m not sure if the telly is centred perfectly? I like the flex seeming to form the line of the jacket. I’d wondered if the title came before the picture. Not sure about the black background – I think it might lose some depth from the picture. I shall now read sweavo’s comment….
I like it. I didn’t even notice that the TV was facing the other way or anything until I read the comments.
The black cord (?) makes a hell of a difference. I like how it comes further from the body at the top and creates a little shadow. A very small thing that adds loads of depth. I also like the lighting – the fact that you can see the pole at the bottom makes it a totally different picture.
In the large version I don’t like how you can read the text. For some reason text in pictures really grabs my attention, and if it’s nothing important, I get annoyed. I can’t read it in this small version, though.
All in all, very good. Possibly in your top ten this year for me. Maybe even in your top five.
