Frost

Frost - 2008-10-29

Today was the first real frost of the year.  Hopefully, we’ll have a proper cold winter for a change.

I’ve had a productive evening tonight.  So far I’ve managed to:

  • Arrange what time I’m picking up Niece No 1 to go to the seaside on Monday
  • Install and configure my new 1TB RAID array (Which is good, as I was down to 56MB of free disk space!  I now have over 800GB on the array and about 80GB of space on my main disk)
  • Work out how to tickle my serial port into life from a shell script – so I can set the time on my clock from a cronjob.
  • Mounted the V3 dials to the clock.  These are black on a white background, and work marvelously.  They can stay! (sod the backlight idea – it didn’t work anyway)
