I only see blue smarties, did you eat all the others … hmm, hmm,?
I assume that the blue light on the back is from a gel? the yellowness of the glass looks a little odd though..
I bought 4 tubes of smarties, but by the time I’d picked out all the blue ones for the theme there weren’t enough to fill in the sherry glass so there’s a pile of carefully arranged brown and green smarties at the back.
Now that you mention it, the orange is distracting, it’s a reflection of the table the glass is standing on. If I’d noticed it last night I’d have put down some black paper to kill it.
Lighting is a blue gelled Vivitar283 for the background on about 3/4 power (the blue gel eats loads of light!) and a Vivitar283 on about 1/2 power, with a black-drinking-straw-grid on the front high up camera right. Ambient lights turned off to try and kill some of the stray highlights in the glass.
If I was reshooting, I’d turn down the grid flash a touch, and bounce some light in from camera left to fill that shadow slightly. I would also buy another 10 tubes of smarties, but at 50p a go that’s more than I’m willing to spend on this shot!
