New Shoes

DSC_0174_trainers_medium

Having spent the last couple of weeks with wet feet due to some leaky trainers, I finally gave in and went shoe shopping. I hate shoe shopping.

You see, I have UK size 5 feet, which is so small I can’t shop in the “adult” section of the shoe shops, so all my shoes come from at best the “teens” section, or at worst the “kids” section.

Being a man, on my own, hanging around in the kids section of shoe shops isn’t a lot of fun.  I get a lot of funny looks from parents and shop assistants. I’m only 32, so this isn’t going to get any easier as I get older.

Still, at least I shaved my beard off at the weekend.

This isn’t quite what this photo looked like in my head, but is as close as I can get it. It could do with another source back right to give the top edge of the trainers a bit of pop and lift them off the background a touch but I don’t have a third source (or rather I do, but have no way to trigger it) and I’m not feeling creative enough to reconfigure everything to get enough light onto a reflector back there.

I would be tempted to spend the rest of the week taking photos of my trainers, but to be honest I need to start wearing them!
