Photo Challenge
This weeks photo challenge was to “dig out a childhood photo, and recreate it” and I think I’ve done reasonably well. I’m about 7 in the original photo, and was all dressed up to go to a school disco (some time in June 1984ish I think)
The only missing elements are the planter bottom left (wrong time of year for that sort of thing) the white stripes on my shoes, and a red sock. I was actually wearing a red sock, but the only brown shoes I’ve got are boots so you can’t tell. The shadow isn’t *quite* right as in the original it was caused by the summer sun, and in the recreation I had to use a flash because it was all cloudy and well.. January!
My light stands don’t quite go high enough to get the angle right, and there obviously isn’t enough light to cast the shadow of the door frame on the front door – but hey, I think I did pretty well.
I just hope I’m not the only entrant!
Fabulous! I love it, lol. I’m very impressed. You did a great job with the details, even to the exact bricks and windows in sight (I didn’t check every one but it looks pretty darn perfect!). I had a lot of prep work too, mostly for my hair (I see you did as well, unless of course that is your norm :-P) but I’m unimpressed with mine, I had much higher hopes. I had a cranky husband and a cranky child during my ‘shoot’ so that didn’t help. I’d love to have another go at it and correct all the minor details that were ‘off’ or try with another photo.
