A photo a day is too hard when you’re shooting film, but I’m digital now. Rah!

I forgot to mention on Saturday that I completed Week3 of hundredpushups.com! (30,22,22,20,30)
Today, I completed Week4 Day1 with 27,20,20,17,32 - I’m a bit confused about why the first day of week 4 should be easier than the end of week 3, even though I’m doing it “oldskool”.
FestoooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooon!
Oh, and 22,17,17,15,22 - week3 level3 day1 complete
I really should find something more interesting to do than a 3 exposure shot of some clocks.
Oh - and 25,19,19,17,23
It’s pushup week 3, and I’ve failed day 1. I wasn’t even close to passing it! (I do however feel a bit sick now)
I should have listened to Andy, Gareth and Chris. The top set for week 3 day 1 is *nasty*
The rules we’re playing by at work say that if you fail a day, you can re-take that day and then carry on with the rest of the week, but if you fail a week you retake the week. I think I’m going to write today off and assume that I’m not going to pass it on a re-take, then drop down to the middle set for the rest of the week, and then re-take week 3 next week.
Assuming my arms don’t fall off first.
This is J’s VW Corrado. I spent most of the day wrestling it into having an oil change - the filter isn’t in the most accessible of places! Still, new oil, filter, dizzy, plugs and leads can’t be a bad thing.
In pressup news - today was my calibration day for week 3. I managed 30 pressups, which on the one hand is good news (that’s a 7 pressup improvement from the start of the program) but on the other hand it does mean I’m in the top set for week 3 - and that looks *hard* - If I can make it through day 1 I’ll be happy.
Oh, and today being the last day of August, that’s 8 months down, 4 months (or 122 days) to go.
Being the planet friendly tree hugger that I am, I bought a “bag for life” from my local supermarket a couple of months ago to reduce the number of carrier bags I use.
Today, the handle fell off it. On the way home. Dropping my shopping all over the pavement. Not so much “bag for life” as “bag for a bit” - the child sweatshop workers who stitched it together should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t mind breaking the sewing machine out to fix it, but I can see that many people wouldn’t bother to (or wouldn’t be able to) fix something like this.
In pressup news - 16, 13, 11, 11, 16 - I’m only just ahead of the minimum, I’m a little worried that I’m going to fail on Friday!
Busy day today, I was working from home all day. I finally stopped at about 8:30pm. Still, at least I made significant progress on the “rip the heart out of our business logic and start again” project, even if it was at the expense of an uninspired picture of a thing.
In “3 Meter Clock” news - I bought a dremmel at lunchtime to cut the circuitboard down to size so it’ll fit in the case. I’d have been better off using a hand saw. Dremmels suck.
In hundred pressup news, today was 12, 12, 10, 10, 15. I think. I may have done 3 sets of 10 as I couldn’t remember if I’d done two or not, so did another set anyway. I think it’s going to hurt tomorrow.
The blue background is a sheet of white A3 paper backlit by a Vivitar 283 at about 2/3 power with CTB filter shooting through a white brolly. The Orange is lit from camera right by a Vivitar 283 at full power with CTO filter, snooted, and softened slightly with a carrier bag.
That’s more for my reference than yours though.
In pushup news - today is Day 1 of Week 1 - and I managed “10, 10, 8, 6, 10″ with carefully timed 60 second gaps. I could probably have pushed that final 10 a bit further, but I’m being slightly cautious. I don’t want to burn out too early in the first week.
Today I decided that I’m going to have a go at http://hundredpushups.com/
I’ll be posting my progress here along side my photos, just so I can keep track of things. Today was my “Initial Test” day - and I managed 23 pushups from a cold start. Not too bad, and better than I was expecting to be honest. Shame I couldn’t crank out just one more to equal Chris, but then he is a week ahead of me.
